June 20, 2003 To Whom it May Concern: I am pleased to write this Letter of References for Dell Deaton. I have personally known Dell for 2 years. I first came to know him through a leadership function he chose with ... First Presbyterian [Church] in Northville. In this leadership role Dell assumed the role of mentor and counselor, guiding individuals through the tumultuous course in divorce. I have found Dell to be an individual who is very attentive. His listening skills are excellent. He also demonstrates a caring nature as he listens. Dell is very creative at bringing individuals back to the issue at hand and he attempts to have them reflect on their part in the problem. Dell has a firm commitment to a vital role, aiding people in emotional need. The last group that he co-facilitated, he made himself available 24/7, giving them all his cell phone [number] and explained to call him anytime; often you just need someone to listen. I commend Dell for his firm commitment to others; not many people have this desire to truly help others. — Southfield, Michigan |
