In reference to Dell Deaton: I met Dell on May 2nd of 2002. I remember the date because it was the day after my divorce was finalized. Through the divorcePeers.com website that Dell set up I was able to find the Divorce Peer Fellowship group ... in Ann Arbor. Dell was (and still is) the facilitator of the DPF group and he was there to welcome me on my first day of what would be many weekly visits. From that very first visit, I was impressed with the devotion that Dell had in leading the group. After my first evening meeting, we went out for a bite to eat afterwards. He was willing to share his free time to help me. It became clear to me that he was someone I could talk to in confidence. His genuine interest in helping people showed through each week as he helped members of the group and I express, share and sort out the multitude of emotions, anxieties and confusion that divorces can bring about. All the while he guided the group along, but still gave each person the time to share whatever they wished. As a leader and as a person, I hold Dell in the highest of regards. — Howell, Michigan |
