Wednesday, December 1, 2004 Much as one may infer to the contrary, Dear Abby and I had no prior arrangement to dovetail messages between my last blog and her Thanksgiving Day column. We just see the same reality. Obviously prescient to divorce issues, she writes that some folks "...may become embarrassed because they can't celebrate the way they would like to celebrate, or in the style they have in past years." You mean I have to change? Try "choose" to change. The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People cites encouraging research.
I'm not saying change is easy. But if I can triple my happiness by exerting less force against the big rock that hasn't budged once in the 5 years, 3 months, and 4 days I've been pushing against it... ...well then, sign me: "Bendable in Belleville." —posted by Dell Deaton @7:48 AM EST 12/1/2004 [149] |
