"The" Answer to Fidelity

"I want to trust her but—" reads the key line from a reader's question to Carolyn Hax, syndicated advice columnist with The Washington Post, as it appeared in The Ann Arbor News last Sunday.

Taking it from the top: "I am totally in love with someone...," hearts, flowers, incense.

Now picking it up again after that ominous "but," above, he chooses to "...question everything she does when I am not around."

Sound familiar? Tempted to shell out $99.95 for eBlaster 5.0 — so you can "Automatically Record Everything They Do on the Internet"?

It won't help.

"The" answer to fidelity, for you, me, and our present wanna-be spy here is this: "Forcing people to report back to you is not what keeps them faithful....

"She will remain faithful, even during those long and scary nanoseconds when she leaves your sight, if, and only if, she wants to."

No more. No less.
